Taters

Ryan planted potatoes today, white ones, red ones & yellow ones. He's a little late getting them in the ground, but they will be fine! We cut them up this morning and then he dropped them into the rows. Him and the kids then walked stepped on them to help seat them in the soil. Me & Abigail then went to the house to fix lunch while Caleb & Daddy "fed" and covered them up.

Thanks to my multi-talented husband, hopefully by the end of summer we will have lots of potatoes! :)

Molly was there to help too, but she was so hot all she wanted to do was lay in the plowed rows.

Old Church

I passed this old church while I was driving home from the Power Show yesterday and had to turn around and go back. I love the weathered boards and rusted roof.

Ice Cream

It was so hot all day yesterday that the kids wanted some ice cream. Luckily they were miniature cones and they were able to eat it all before it melted. :)

Weekend at the Antique Power Show

We spent most of the weekend at an Antique Power Show. We went with Mona, Caleb, Hannah & her two good friends Devin & Johna. Ryan wasn't with us, so we didn't really check out the antique machinery, we just checked out the crafts, yard sales, kids stuff, and silent auction. We mainly went to watch Hannah play her keyboard as part of the entertainment. :) She did an awesome job!

The kids got to eat lots of greasy food - the only thing Caleb wanted to eat was corn dogs (they were D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S (hand dipped!)!), Abigail had hot dogs and hamburgers, and the ribbon fries were so yummy! Of course ce cream and Hawaiin Ice were included! :)

They had all kinds of stuff for the kids to do and they got to play in the corn pit (LOVED it!), play on the Tumble Bus and Bounce House, ride the tractor & barrel wagon (Abigail got on but wouldn't ride), get their face(arms) painted and they painted a tile. They also had a fun time playing with Alex (Hannah's cousin) on the stage.

When it got so hot we couldn't stand it (93 in April!!!) we headed to the YMCA for some swimming. Saturday we weren't able to get in the pool for a while due to an "incident" (a kid pooped in the pool), so we spent our time waiting in the HOT HOT HOT playground shooting waterguns at each other to cool off. Sunday was much better and we got to cool off and swim for a long time. :)

It was a very fun weekend!
