Relay for Life 2009

We joined our friends for the American Cancer Society Powhatan Relay for Life Walk last night. It started 7pm and ended at 7 this morning. We took the camper so the kids would have somewhere to sleep. So glad we did..we had about 4 storms/rains roll through so we were able to keep them (and us) dry.

The first kid crashed around 10pm, Abigail & Caleb made it to almost 11:30, Kyrsten lasted until around 3:30 or 4, and Hannah around 4:30 or so.

They had stuff going on all night, but things slowed down around 4am. But someone was always on the track.

Powhatan Relay for Life raised over $150,000 to fight/find a cure for cancer!! Impressive!

Why I walked - In Memory of Mom and in Honor of Dad, and in memory of Grandma & Grandpa Hyre, Papa Page & Aunt Frankie:

Lots of "good" stuff to eat. Abigail & Caleb had ice cream, popcorn and later cotton candy. Caleb waited all evening to be able to wear that headlight on his head. :)

Caregiver Walk - She's a cancer survivor, he's her husband. He very recently had open heart surgery, but he did the lap. :) True loves, these two.

There was a high school group of kids and they had FUN! They did a guys "beauty pagent" and the guys (in their dresses) collected money for the relay. They danced, played tug of war, played flour ball, and did karaoke among other things...

Flour Ball - they fill small pieces of pantyhose up with flour and tie them off, then they line up and yell go. Everyone starts pummelling each other with these flour balls. It's hilarious to watch and then to see them all covered in flour!

Strawberry Teddy Bears

We found these Strawberries in the garden Sunday. Don't they look like Teddy Bears?

I haven't been anywhere much to take any pictures so I've resorted to flowers again. :)

Blog Name / Address change

Hi everyone! I'm working on changing the address for this website so that when I become "famous" (haha) I'll be easily searched. :)

If it works the new address will be: www.tammykimblephotography.blogspot.com

I'll probably wait a week or so before changing it, so if you try to get me your old way (favorites, blog follower) then you may have to try the new address. :)

Just hopefully getting ready for bigger and better things. :)

Farm Views

Hannah & I are planning on entering some photos in the Farm Bureau photo contest so we all piled in the car yesterday to ride around and get some photos. :)

Here are a few of my choices:

Memorial Day Service

Our church had a Memorial Day Service today, and they unveiled a new plaque listing all of our church members who have served or are currently serving to protect our country, all the way back to the Civil War.

They asked me to photograph the unveiling and group photo of members that were present. It was humbling to be around so many heros!

Many many thanks and prayers to the men & women who have served our country, to the ones who have given their lives, and to the are protecting us now. Amazing people!

Sandbox

We filled the kids sandbox up today and while we were out with Grandma & Pap we they got some new sandbox toys. Of course they had to take the "gang" (Daphne, Fred, Shaggy, Scooby & Velma) in the sandbox with them. :)

Daddy and his little boy

Ryan was standing on this log and Caleb took of running toward him yelling "I want to stand like Daddy!" Awwww....I love my big man and my little man so much! (and of course Abi-girl) :)

Molly and her Frisbee

Molly LOVES her frisbee. She would chase frisbee all day long if someone would throw it for her. If she's not chasing it, she carries it around to see if someone will throw it, or she'll lay it down beside her if she's resting.

Ryan threw the frisbee for her tonight while I tried to get some shots. Whew...that's hard to do! I did get a good sequence. You can see the determination in her eyes and body to get that frisbee before it hits the ground.

The last picture is a different catch, but look at the dirt flying around her paws. She skids across the yard trying to catch that thing! :)
